Global Violent Death Estimates produced by Small Arms Survey provide our conservative estimates of violent deaths: 

• The GVD database estimates that 596,000 people lost their lives to lethal violence in 2018  
• Of these 596,000 people, 93,700 (16 per cent) were women
• Of the 596,000 violent deaths in 2018, 223,300 (38 per cent) were caused by firearms

The Global Terrorism Database now includes details of more than 200,000 terrorist attacks.  2019 marks the fifth consecutive year that the number of terrorist attacks and deaths from terrorist attacks worldwide has declined.

ACLED has introduced special coverage on the effects of the pandemic on the COVID-19 Disorder Tracker (CDT) with biweekly updating.
